Lighting the Way for Travellers at Relay – Auckland Airport

Navigating through a busy airport can be overwhelming, but a well-lit retail space can transform the shopping experience—making it intuitive, inviting, and effortless. At Novii, we partnered with Tailor Inc to provide a lighting solution for Relay, the travel essentials store located in both the Domestic and International terminals at Auckland Airport.

Our approach focused on enhancing wayfinding, visibility, and product presentation, ensuring that travellers could move seamlessly through the store while effortlessly locating what they need. With the fast-paced nature of airport retail, lighting plays a crucial role in guiding customers while creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that encourages engagement.

A Tailored Lighting Approach

To meet these objectives, we carefully selected and integrated a combination of luminaires that balance functionality with aesthetics. This included:

Tyke 3 – Providing clean, linear illumination to define the store’s layout.

FluxxLED track & profile lighting systems – Offering flexible and focused lighting to highlight product displays and key merchandise.

Grace downlights – Delivering soft, even illumination to maintain a comfortable shopping environment.

Each luminaire was chosen to ensure optimal brightness and clarity, making sure that every product stands out while maintaining a consistent and engaging visual experience.
