Lighting Well-Being and Connection at Kuehne + Nagel Auckland

When Kuehne + Nagel set out to transform their Auckland office, the goal was clear: create a workspace that better supports connection, collaboration, and well-being. After more than 15 years in their previous environment, the business needed a renewed space that reflected how their people work today, and how they aspire to work in the future.

In collaboration with Cachet, Novii delivered a carefully considered lighting solution that elevates comfort, improves flow, and enhances the user experience across both levels of the reimagined workplace.

A Human-Centric Approach to Office Lighting

At the heart of the design was a focus on wellness lighting, ensuring staff feel comfortable, supported, and energised throughout the day. Our lighting strategy blended function with atmosphere, supporting both heads-down focus and moments of collaboration.

Grace Flow: Bringing Calm and Clarity to Shared Spaces

Grace Flow pendants were strategically positioned in the boardroom, wellness room, and lounge areas, providing ambient illumination that enhances spatial comfort and encourages relaxation. Their soft, diffused light contributes to a calming environment, ideal for discussions, quiet moments, and informal interactions.

Grace Downlights: Everyday Wellness Across Two Floors

Grace downlights were used throughout the main work zones, delivering balanced, low-glare illumination that supports visual comfort and productivity. Their human-centric performance helps maintain circadian rhythm support throughout the day, contributing to a healthier work environment.

Lighting That Enhances Wayfinding and Architectural Features

To support movement across the long, previously fragmented floor plates, lighting played a key role in creating intuitive connections.

Tyke Linear: Wayfinding and Architectural Expression

Tyke linear lights were shaped into arrow-like forms, guiding staff naturally through circulation routes and helping create visual rhythm across the workspace.

Between acoustic ceiling panels, Tyke linear lighting was seamlessly integrated to emphasise the wave-like geometry of the feature ceiling, enhancing architectural intent while elevating the surrounding environment.
