Novii was approached by Glamuzina Architects to collaborate on lighting selection for their award-winning project, Kā Uri, situated in the beautiful Awanui region.

Serving as both a symbolic and physical gateway to Te Hiku o Te Ika, Kā Uri stands as a fully-redeveloped cultural and visitor destination, immersing visitors in the rich narratives of Ngāti Kurī.

Our team at Novii took on the task of selecting lights that would create a warm and inviting atmosphere while complementing the interior materiality and colour scheme. The Grace Compose, Grace Thrive, and Tyke N-Series Linear lights were strategically chosen to illuminate the space. Notably, one of the key lighting features was the illuminated mesh ceiling, achieved using our FluxxLED battens, which artfully emulates the gentle leak of sunlight through an industrial metal mesh.

We are thrilled to have contributed to this remarkable project and are honoured that Kā Uri received the Civic award at the prestigious 2023 Interior Design Awards. Being part of the development of a cultural centre where communities and visitors can learn, grow, and embrace new experiences is a source of immense pride for our team at Novii.
